The Ar Tonelico series features a mechanic in which the main character dives into the psyche of his female companions, unlocking powers by travelling deeper into their subconscious. Developer Gust takes advantage of this feature to make incredibly dirty puns. I’ve only been playing Ar Tonelico Qoga: Knell of Ar Ciel for the PlayStation 3 for a 
few hours, and already I’m blushing like one of the game’s girlish anime characters at every turn. The first two games in the series poured the innuendo on pretty thick. Number three is trying to drown me in it. No wonder this game got a Mature rating while its predecessors only made it to Teen. So far I’ve had the character Saki, seen above, mutter that charming phrase. Another character, the purple-haired and pigtailed Finnel, just explained that I was diving through [[link]] her subconscious so fast because she wanted me deeper inside of her. While it’s not surprising, considering one of the game’s other 
systems has the girls undressing to become more powerful, but it’s [[link]] definitely shocking. Again, I’m only 
[[link]] a few hours into the game. Hopefully I can make it through to the end without getting so embarrassed I stop playing Ar Tonelico Qoga in favor of something a little less suggestive, like tentacle porn.
