Celebrating the company’s transition to Facebook’s mandatory Timeline format, Insomniac Games shares the secrets of 1080Pinball , the high-definition downloadable game that never was. Hidden away in the 2007 section of Insomniac’s new Facebook front page is a bevy of art for a pinball powerhouse that didn’t make it. The title would be a downloadable game, and was intended to be the most realistic pinball simulation ever (including simulating weight of ball, gravity, and friction of table surface, as well as accurately modeling the “kick bumpers”), running in 1080p and 60fps. Get it? 1080P? Don’t you just want to pinch their little cheeks? The game was to feature original levels inspired by the greatest pinball tables of all time, as well as “a ‘Gran Turismo‘ level of progression”.
